About Melghat Tiger Reserve

Melghat Tiger Reserve in Amaravati, Maharashtra is one of the biggest tiger reserves in India. Apart from tigers, one can also spot the Sloth Bear, Indian Gaur, Sambar Deer, Leopard and Nilgai as well as the “back from extinction” Owlet. The best season for good sightings is said to be between mid-July to end-September.

About Narnala Fort

Also known as ‘Shahnoor’ Fort, the Narnala fort was built and named after the Rajput ruler Narnala Singh in the 10th century. However, in the 15th century it was occupied and rebuilt by the Mughals. It went on to serve as the birthplace of Aurangzeb’s great grandson. One can still see a mixture of Rajput and Arabic inscriptions and architecture within the fort. According to legend, the lake at the centre of this fort had healing powers.
