Vajrapoha River Trail
Vajrapoha Fall is located in the Belgaum district of Karnataka. In a mountainous forest 4 km away from the Jamboti village between the village of Gavali and Chapoli on an elevated hillock, the Mandovi River flows to the mesmerizing Vajrapoha falls that fall up to 200 meters and are a must witness during monsoons. Making your way through a jungle route you experience a mind-blowing river trail embraced by a dense forest.
Kalsa-Sural waterfalls are in the midst of Kankumbi forest. One has to cross a beautiful Kalsa Stream and then reach the head of the Kalsa Waterfall. After few ascends and descends one reaches the base of the waterfall which will leave you awestruck.
Sada Fort and the Volcanic Caves
The Sada Fort is crowned in the Western Ghats, 60 kms from Belgaum. This historic fort was once ruled by the Marathas. One can get a picturesque view of a dense forest as Sada Fort is located at the edge of a hill surrounded by dense forest to its east and south. The north and the west side of this fort is all about a breathtaking view of the deep forested valleys of Maharashtra and Goa. Hence this fort was secured due to this during that time form the enemies. The volcanic caves are the underground caves, which were originated due to volcanic eruptions, thousands of year ago in the Sada Fort. A trekker or an adventure lover would never miss a chance to explore this unique destination!

Day 0: Friday Night , 29th September 2017
Meet the Travel Trikon Team at Dadar station and board the Triunelveli Express (11005) from Dadar at 9:30 pm for Belgaum.
Day 1: Saturday , 30th September 2017 – Check in the Cottages at jungle Campsite.
We reach Belgaum and proceed to the campsites. We check into the Cottages at the campsite
Post that Proceed to Vajrapoha River Trail through Jungle Route. Packed Lunch will be provided. We reach the campsite after the thrilling trek. We have enjoy some steaming tea in the evening. Later have our dinner in the night and rest for the day.
Day 2: Sunday , 01st October 2017 – Witness the mesmerizing Kalsa-Sural Waterfalls and a Jungle trek!
Wake up early in the morning as today’s day is loaded with adventure. We freshen up and head towards Kalsa-Sural Waterfalls and spend some amazing time there. Later we head towards an adventurous Jungle trek. We return and have our lunch in the afternoon. We sip some hot tea in the evening sharing the beautiful memories of the day spent. In the night we have our dinner followed by a campfire. Get ready as it is time for some Antakshari at the Campfire! We then rest for the day.
Day 3: Monday , 02nd October 2017 – Sada Fort and the Volcanic Caves are waiting to be explored!
This day is perfect for the adventure lovers. Today we wake up early and head towards the mighty Sada Fort. After exploring the fort we will head towards the volcanic caves and explore them. We return for lunch and then leave the site. We board the Chalukya Express (11022) from Belgaum in the evening and reach Mumbai (Dadar) on the next day.
Day 4: Tuesday , 03rd October 2017 Reach Mumbai Early Morning
- Non AC Sleeper Class Tickets from Mumbai to Mumbai
- Local Transport from Belgaum to Belgaum
- Food (Beginning from the Lunch of Day 1 till the Lunch of Day 3 with Non Veg for Day 1 & Day 2 Dinners)

Important Information: Dear Trikoners, always remember SHOES are your best companion on a trek! Please wear a good pair of TREKKING SHOES and not sports or running shoes. Make sure they are durable and firm enough to withstand tough conditions. You can carry floaters to wear only after the trek is completed. Feel free to contact Trikoner buddies prior to the trek in case of any confusion.
Monsoon Safety Measures
- Put clothes, money, camera, phone etc. in polythenes while packing
- Wear shoes with good grips
- Use repellents to keep bugs away
- Make note of nearest railway station, bus stop, taxi stand etc.
- Do not stray away from your group during the trek
- Keep family & friends informed about your whereabouts
Consuming liquor or any kind of Alcoholic substance is prohibited. Carrying any kind of substance that’s illegal is not allowed. Anybody found consuming alcoholic drinks will be expelled from the event without refund. Selling of Tobacco products in Bhutan is strictly banned. Anyone found selling Tobacco products will lead to severe punishment. However, tourists may bring in Tobacco Products after paying 200% imports duty with no more than 200 sticks of Cigarette. However please note that, Smoking in Public is strictly banned and a punishable offence.
Fitness & Health – Though trekking is a fun-filled activity, it demands good amount of physical fitness. If you are under medication, please carry your medicines. During the trek, leaders will have over the counter medication for temporary treatment, so do give a heads up to them if you need any medical assistance.
